Your setup, step by step

- Open a new terminal and check installation.
claude --version
- Extract the starter ZIP and enter its folder.
Replace the example path with the actual extracted folder on your computer.
- Launch and sign in.

Follow the sign-in and project trust prompts. Use an eligible Claude account or another supported authentication option. Subscription access and API billing are separate.
Something not working?
Reopen your terminal if claude is not found. Check that the command matches your shell. Git for Windows is recommended for Bash support on native Windows; WSL is an option, not a requirement for this lesson. See official troubleshooting for your specific error.
